March 14 Friday Ennis Country Club / Ennis Invitational Girls

The Lady Cats golf team finished second in the Ennis Invitational at Ennis Country Club on Friday, shooting a team score of 349.  Midlothian took first place with a total of 343.  Callisburg was the only school in the tournament not 4A or 5A.  The Lady Cat "B" Team shot 449.  Other teams in the tournament were Red Oak, Crowley, North Crowley, Rockwall, Irving, Waxahachie, Flower Mound and Sequin.

March 17 Monday Gainesville / Callisburg Spring Break Invitational Boys and Girls

The Wildcat and Lady Cat golf teams each brought home first place team trophies at the Callisburg Spring Invitational last week.  The Lady Cat "B" team also did well with a third place finish.  Other girls' teams competing in the tournament were S&S (2nd place), Lindsay "A", Lindsay "B", Richardson, and Whitewright.  On the boys' side, other teams competing were Prosper "A" (2nd place), Prosper "B", Lindsay, Richardson (3rd place), Pottsboro, Whitewright "A", and Whitewright "B".

March 31 Monday Gainesville / District 14-2A Tournament Girls

The Callisburg Lady Cat Golf team fought high winds and a rainy forecast to outlast the S&S Lady Rams in the District 14-2A golf tournament held at Gainesville Municipal Golf Course on Monday.  Taylor Klutts of Callisburg had a fantastic round of 73 to win the individual title.  Callisburg shot a team score of 347, while S&S shot  381.  “This was quite an accomplishment for these young ladies to shoot these type numbers in the conditions they had to play in today.  This was 10 shots better than their team score they shot at state last year” say Coach Randy Romines.  The S&S Lady Rams shot their season low which is the second best round of the region this year behind Callisburg.  Callisburg “B” was the third place team with a score of 437.  Shelby Potz-Nielson of Callisburg and Taylor Murray of Howe both qualified for the regional tournament as the top medalists.

April 2 Wednesday Gainesville / District 14-2A Tournament Boys

The Callisburg boys golf team shot a season low 321 to outdistance the field by 62 strokes Wednesday, April 2, at the Gainesville Municipal Golf Course to win the district 14-2A championship.  Whitewright (383) claimed the second place spot by beating Gunter (384) by one stroke.  The top two teams qualified for the regional tournament to be held in Stephenville April 23-24. 

Bobby Dorman of Callisburg fired a sizzling 75 to beat teammate Scott Lovegreen by 5 shots for first and second respectively.  Tanner Baze of S&S beat Justin Sykes of Callisburg in a sudden death playoff for 3rd place medalist. Baze and Daniel Armstrong of Pottsboro qualified as individual medalist for the regional tournament.

April 21-22 Monday/ Tuesday Legends G.C. (Stephenville) / Region II - 2A Tournament Girls

Lauren Romines fired a second day 77 to go with her 79 on day one to win the individual region II title.  Taylor Klutts fired a 74 on day two to finish one stroke behind Romines.  The Callisburg "A" team extended their day one 20 stroke lead to run away with the team title, finishing 68 strokes ahead of second place Olney.  Blair Cassidy fired a career best 89, followed by Tara Wescoat with a 91 and Morgan McKenzie with a 96.  Tuesday's team total of 331 set a new school record.

The Lady Cat "B" team, who found out at the last minute that they would get the opportunity to compete in the regional tournament after S&S was ruled ineligible to participate, had a solid eighth place performance.  Shelby Potz-Nielsen led the "B" team with scores of 90-92.  Other team members were Madeleine Lowe, Shay Shaw, and Jacklyn Davidson who all fired solid scores.

April 23-24 Wednesday/ Thursday Legends G.C. (Stephenville) / Region II - 2A Tournament Boys

The Wildcat boys golf team came up short in their bid for a return trip to the state tournament.  The team finished fourth, shooting a two day total of 355-348-703.  Nocona won the tournament with a solid 332-334-666, followed by Lone Oak's 329-345-674 and Olney's 337-342-679.  Bobby Dorman shot a pair of 80's to finish sixth in the race for the individual title, followed closely by Dylan Stone in eighth with scores of 85 and 78.
